Texans 2013 first round pick, DeAndre Hopkins, is in a position to really flourish in year two of his career.
Hopkins caught 52 receptions for 802 yards and two touchdowns in 2013, which isn’t exactly mind blowing on a stat sheet. The reason you gotta believe he’ll breakout in 2014 is because of the feud between the aging Andre Johnson and the franchise it’s self.
Johnson wants out, he’s made that clear, and hadn’t showed up to any of the OTA’s or other workouts early in the preseason. Johnson has got to be behind at this point leaving you to believe that Hopkins is the best receiving option right now.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is their new starter after the team decided to part ways with Matt Schaub early in the offseason. Thought it’s hard to trust in Fitzpatrick, Hopkins is a special talent and could be the best second wide receiver option for your roster.
Look for him to fall even as far as round 4 or 5 and if that happens, take him.
