Matt Forte is a fantasy football owners dream as he is a jack of all traits at his position. He can run, catch, and most importantly, finally find the endzone. After some good, but not over the top fantasy seasons, Forte finally had a breakout year in the TD department.
Cutler loves finding Forte out of the backfield whether it be screens or just simple swing routes, making him one of the best running back pickups in PPR leagues.
The only hesitation you could have about Forte is him having a hangover from last season. He played a total of 887 snaps, more than any other running back in the entire NFL, and, he’s entering the 7th season of his career so their might be some tread starting to wear.
Still, like Lynch, any risk he has is well worth the taking. Forte plays a huge role in the Bears offense and his ability to catch the ball rivals only two other running backs in the NFL today.
Forte is for sure a top 5 running back, which is why I have him as 5th on my 2014 countdown.
