Now I know that some of you are thinking this is too high of a ranking for Arian Foster, but hear me out. The veteran runner is coming off serious back surgery, and, has had an issue with his hamstrings the last few years. Yes, he could potentially be a risky pick.
However, Foster is expected to be 100% healthy by the start of the season and the Texans are in the midst of a coaching overhaul. After a very disappointing 2013, the franchise parted ways with Gary Kubiak, long time head coach and offensive play caller. They also made some changes at quarterback, deciding to roll with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their guy under center.
This tells me two things, one, they’re not going to be very good, and two, Arian Foster is going to get the ball… A lot. Houston is still equipped with one of the better offensive lines in football and Foster, when healthy, is a running back who can generate a ton of fantasy points. I can easily see him finishing as a top 5 back at the end of this upcoming season.
If you’re playing in a league where he falls to you as your second pick, I’d consider that a steal.
I see this as a bounce back year for the 6th year veteran, making him my 9th best running back option for 2014.
