WRONG!! (sike on the Montee Ball thing.. No? Okay, anyway)

Call me a homer on this but, Jamaal Charles is ranked number one on my running backs list for more than just that.

More from Fantasy Football

In my big league last season, I had the number one overall pick and it came down to either Charles or Peterson. After really studying the two, I had sense that Charles was poised to have a monster season and he did just that, taking me all the way to the Super Bowl.

Charles is dynamic as a runner and pass cathcher, so much so that his receiving numbers were better than most slot receivers across the league. Andy Reid found creative ways to get him the ball and particularly, in the endzone which totaled 19 TD’s, the most at his position. He had a strong case for NFL MVP but settled for Fantasy Football MVP with his average of 20.8 points per fantasy game. Amazing.

The Chiefs didn’t focus  much this off season in adding weapons in passing game, though they do have a young plethora of talent at the position, so you can expect Charles to once again be a focal point for Alex Smith in 2014.

With no signs of slowing down, don’t feel bad for taking him number one overall instead of AP. Especially if you’re playing in a PPR league. Jamaal Charles completes my list at number one.
