Fantasy Football Receivers: Top 10 You Should Target In 2014
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (11) Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports
Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones clocks in at #5 on my list. Jones spent most of the 2013 season on the Injured Reserve after injuring his foot in the 5th game of the year.
Like Marshall, Jones has a strong supporting cast member in fellow receiver Roddy White. White also was injured last season, but both are back and healthy this year.
While there is no arguing that Jones is the superior receiver, White still is respectable enough to take some of the attention away from Jones. In 2012, the last season both were healthy, Jones scored 1o times while White scored seven.
Another aspect to look at is the departure of tight end Tony Gonzalez, who lead the Falcons in touchdowns last year. With Gonzalez out of the mix, there will be more scoring opportunities for Jones.
Jones’ case is one reason that there is more to fantasy football than who is the better player. While Brandon Marshall may be a better athlete than Jones, Jones is more likely to help your fantasy team, which is the most important thing to a fantasy owner.
