Fantasy Football Receivers: Top 10 You Should Target In 2014
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson (87) Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports
Coming in at #8 is Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson. Nelson received a new contract from the Packers in July, signing for four years and almost $40 million dollars.
Nelson had one of the best seasons of his career last year, notching eight touchdowns and over 1300 yards. Nelson also started all 16 games for the first time in his career in 2013.
Nelson’s accurate route running and catching ability are what sets him apart. Nelson is also fairly fast, running a 4.51 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine in 2008.
The only problem with having Nelson on your fantasy team is that he may not be a “true #1 receiver”. While he is listed on the depth chart ahead of receiver Randall Cobb, both are frequent targets for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Nelson thrives in the Packer’s offense, where they have are very pass-heavy. Rodgers should be healthy this season, which will boost the play of Nelson and the rest of the receivers.
