Coming in at #6 is one of the most underrated players in the league, Greg Olsen from the Carolina Panthers. Olsen has been a staple in Carolina’s offense for the last three years, and his importance on offense will only increase this season.

Olsen lead the Panthers in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in 2013. Receivers Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell were 2nd and 3rd respectively, but both left town this offseason. Kelvin Benjamin was drafted to fill that hole, and Jerricho Cotchery was signed in free agency, but Olsen will still carry most of the burden in the passing game.

But for fantasy owners, the lack of receivers can only mean good things, like more touchdowns. Olsen has had at least five touchdowns in every season since 2008, and that won’t change this year. There is only one reason Olsen isn’t higher on this list: Ed Dickson. The free agent signing could take some red zone opportunities from Olsen, but not enough to worry too much.

As long as Cam Newton is playing at quarterback, the Panther’s offense will be dangerous. When Newton drops back, nobody knows if he will throw it or run with it, making Olsen’s job even easier. Expect Olsen to have a career year, reaching the end zone about seven or eight times.
