5. Damon Huard (Chiefs QB from 2004-2008)
The timing couldn’t have been better for Damon Huard in the 2006 season. Todd Collins, the backup quarterback, had left via free agency and Huard was bumped up to second string. Trent Green injured himself in the season opener and it was Damon Huard time in Kansas City.
Huard led the Chiefs to a 5-3 record before Green returned and took Kansas City to the playoffs. During Huard’s time as a starting quarterback, he had 11 touchdowns to just one interception and passed for almost 1,900 yards.
The 2007 season wasn’t as good for Huard. He traded starting time with Brodie Croyle and went 4-6 as a starter. He threw 11 touchdown passes, but threw 13 interceptions as well.
Huard also played for the Chiefs in 2008, but suffered several injuries before eventually being placed on injured reserve. While Huard had a winning record as a Chiefs quarterback, he was always getting bitten by the injury bug so I put him at number five on this countdown.
