Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos
Look, lets just face it, as long as Manning is in the Bronco orange, they will be the favorites to win the AFC West. On top of that, they spent A TON of money in free agency to upgrade their roster in key spots.
The signings of T.J. Ward, DeMarcus Ware, Aqib Talib, and Emmanuel Sanders leads you to think that this Denver team is better than last years.
The Manning lead Broncos marched through the AFC all the way to the Super Bowl only to be embarrassed by the Seattle Seahawks (lol 43-8). They were exposed in a lot of areas, particularly on the offensive line, and defensive secondary. Where I think Denver got a whole lot better was in the pass rush.
Now, we can sit here and argue about how much Ware has left in the tank, but the fact of the matter is he’s now paired with a healthy Von Miller on the opposite side and a revamped secondary with Talib and Ward which takes a ton of pressure of the 31 year old veteran. Look for him, if he can stay healthy, to have a big year with the Broncos.
In all honesty, I just don’t see the Chiefs going into Mile High and beating this team. Call me pessimistic but, historically the Chiefs just do not play well in Denver whether Manning is under center or not.
The Broncos take week 2 from us, 31-21.
