10) Brodie Croyle (Chiefs QB from 2006-2010)

Despite starting several games for Kansas City over the span of four years, Brodie Croyle gets my vote for the worst starting quarterback the Chiefs have had in the past 10 years. He wasn’t able to win a single game and I think that’s a big enough statement for him being ranked last.

Croyle was a third round draft pick by the Chiefs in 2006, but he never lived up to the hype. He played in two games his rookie year and threw no touchdowns and two interceptions (one was a pick six actually).

The next year beloved quarterback Trent Green was traded to the Miami Dolphins. Head coach Herm Edwards thought it was time to get some of the younger guys in the spotlight and it seemed like Croyle had every opportunity to start in 2007. The thing that Edwards didn’t count on was that Croyle sucked and couldn’t win the starting job over an injured Damon Huard.

Regardless of the situation, Huard was hurt all the time so Croyle ended up starting six games in 2007, losing all of them. He did throw six touchdowns in 2007, but also threw six interceptions and was sacked 17 times.

For the rest of his time in Kansas City (and in the NFL pretty much), Croyle was always injured. He only started four games from 2008-2010 and was never able to bring home a win.

Brodie Croyle continues to be an ongoing joke in my family. When things get rough for the Chiefs, we say, “At least Brodie Croyle’s gone” and then have a big laugh about it. Good times.
