PROBABLE – CLIFF ALEXANDER

There is a chance Cliff Alexander will be a beast for the Kansas Jayhawks. The freshman, who finished as the 4th best recruit this season, according to Rivals.com, is already a physical specimen at 6’8″, 240 pounds.

He was a very physical player on both ends of the court in high school, and will bring some tremendous energy in whatever role is fills for Kansas.

Bill Self is probably hoping Alexander can bring some hustle and toughness on both ends of the court. As a high schooler, Alexander was a massive rebounder and shot blocker. After last season’s poor showing on defense by the Jayhawks, a physical presence will be very welcome on the inside.

He is very enthusiastic about being a Jayhawk. He was a team player, even before donning the crimson and blue. He tried to help convince Miles Turner to come to Kansas, even though Turner’s presence would have cut into Alexander’s minutes. Turner ended up choosing the Texas Longhorns.

The upside is huge for Cliff Alexander. He could be the next star inside player for Kansas. The question is whether he can be ready to start for the Jayhawks at the beginning of the season, or if he will need some seasoning.
