So there it is, the top 5 running backs in Chiefs history.
Honorable mentions go to Joe Delaney and Abner Haynes. Delaney only had two seasons with the Chiefs, as his life was tragically cut short when he drowned in an attempt to save three children. He rushed for 1,121 yards and three touchdowns during his rookie season and the future looked bright.

Side note: Delaney’s number 37 hasn’t been officially retired by the team but, no one has ever worn that number since his tragic death.
Abner Haynes goes WAY back to the 1960-1964 seasons. Though his career with the Chiefs/Texans was short, his 3,814 yards rushing lands him at number 6 all time in team history.
