NUMBER THREE

These were interesting uniforms when first introduced in January. They are cream-colored (evidently not white), and featured a cursive font for Jayhawks across the chest.

The font and style were based on some uniforms from the late 1970’s. I liked  these at first, but they grew old for me rather quickly.

One unique feature for these uniforms was they that had thin pinstripes. Evidently, the pinstripes contained tiny words. As reported by Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star, these tiny pinstripes read:

"“Pay Heed. The game you love began here. Respect those who came before you. Make their legacy your own. Because destiny favors the dedicated. And rings don’t replace work. In this game you don’t get what you want. You get what you earn. We are Kansas. Together we rise. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!"

Okay. Kind of cheesy in my opinion.

These were pretty nice alternatives, and better than the normal home whites Kansas had been wearing, but they were not fantastic. They were something different, and honored a period from the past. Fair enough.
