The Kansas Jayhawks have one of the elite basketball programs in the country. They are second all-time in wins with 2,126, one of only three schools with more than 2,100 wins.

The other two schools, the Kentucky Wildcats (1st, 2,140 wins), and the North Carolina Tar Heels (3rd, 2114 wins), both have strong ties to Kansas that have led to a great many wins for each school. Adolph Rupp played for the Kansas Jayhawks, as did Dean Smith, both learning the finer points of coaching from the father of basketball coaching, Forrest “Phog” Allen.

Part of big-time college sports these days, for better or for worse, are the uniforms. Big companies like Nike and Adidas throw big money at schools if the teams will wear their shoes and uniforms.

Part of those deals often include alternative uniforms that the companies want to feature in an effort to sell more jerseys, and to show a level of creativity. (check out FanSided’s site dedicated to sports fashion, Alternate Uni.)

The Jayhawks sports several different jerseys this season. Some I like better than others, so I thought it would be fun to rank the Kansas uniforms by my preference.
