Kansas City Chiefs 2014 Rookie Mini-Camp: Day One Recap
The Chiefs rookie mini-camp resumes today, and we’ll make sure to keep you updated on all the latest reports from practice.
Things I’ll be watching for in day 2,
September 29, 2012; Houston, TX, USA; Rice Owls cornerback Phillip Gaines (15) bats away a pass intended for Houston Cougars wide receiver Dewayne Peace (9) in the second quarter at Reliant Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
- Murray’s continued progress
- Dee Ford’s continued progress
- Will Weston Dressler continue to impress
- De’Anthony Thomas fielding kicks, and if he does, how does he look
- Phillip Gaines continued progress with man-press coverage
From the sounds of it, Phillip Gaines had a good practice, running stride-for-stride with Dressler most of the day and was able to snag an interception while one-on-one on a fade route. Gaines has potential to be a stud with his size and speed, so his progression is something to keep our eye on.
Be sure to check out KC Kingdom throughout the day for news on the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Tigers, Wildcats, and Jayhawks.
