TIGHT END
GONZALEZ:
- 270 games
- 1,325 receptions
- 15,141 yards from scrimmage
- 111 touchdowns
No brainer here. Matter of fact, I bet that when you read the title, Tony Gonzalez was the automatic for this all time team. He’s second all time in receiving (Jerry Rice being number 1) and holds multiple records for tight ends. His legendary dunking over the goal post will be embedded in our memories for life and he is without a doubt my number one guy. Matter of fact, forget a receiver, I got Tony G.
ARBANAS:
- 118 games
- 198 receptions
- 3,116 yards from scrimmage
- 34 touchdowns
Arbanas caught 198 passes for over 3,000 yards and 34 touchdowns, making him the most dominant tight end during the AFL before merging with the NFL. Other than Otis Taylor, Arbanas was Len Dawson’s favorite target to throw to. Stat’s like his were some of the best in the AFL and he is the only other memorable tight end in Chiefs history. I’ll hear arguments for Jason Dunn.
