OFFENSIVE LINE

Building an all-time offensive line for the Chiefs wasn’t that hard. They have so many legendary big boys that it was like you couldn’t make the wrong choice.

Obviously John Alt at left. He played left tackle for Chiefs for 13 seasons, starting 149 games. He was a Pro Bowler in ’92 and ’93 seasons. His anchoring for 13 season’s is what had me put him over Willie Roaf, who played majority of his career in New Orleans.

Ed Budde started every game from ’63-71 and was named to AFL Hall of Fame. He played 14 seasons with Chiefs (2nd most in team history) and made 7 AFL All-Star/Pro Bowl appearances. His 177 career games makes him a true iron man of the game and the starter at left guard.

Will Shields, well, do I even need to say anything? 12-time Pro Bowler was also a 9-time All-Pro and even won the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2003. Started 230 consecutive games for the Chiefs. Enough said. Jim Tyrer played 13 seasons before concluding career with Redskins. He made 9 AFL All-Star/Pro Bowl appearances and had a streak of 180 consecutive games played is third highest in team history.
