QUARTER BACKS

  1. Len Dawson
  2. Trent Green

DAWSON:

  • 28,507 Yards
  • 237 Touchdowns
  • 178 Interceptions
  • 83.2 Passer Rating

This really isn’t too complicated, the Chiefs only have one Hall of Fame quarterback and his name is Len Dawson. He’s a Super Bowl MVP and world champion. He’s the teams all-time leading passer in yards and touchdown passes. He’s currently the color commentator for the Chiefs on their radio broadcast of games and has been a part of the NFL for 57 years, counting his playing and broadcasting career.

No doubt he’s the starter.

GREEN:

  • 21,459 Yards
  • 118 Touchdowns
  • 85 Interceptions
  • 87.3 Passer Rating

The 2003 season is where things really took off for Green. He lead the Chiefs to a 13-3 record, including a 9-0 start and a first round bye week in the playoffs. Green finished with 4,039 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. Unfortunately, that season ended in disappointment with the no punt game against Peyton Manning in the divisional round of the playoffs. Sigh.

Green would go on to finish as one of the better quarterbacks of the early 2000′s. He’s one of 13 quarterbacks in NFL history to have three consecutive seasons with 4,000 yards passing and had three consecutive season’s with a quarterback rating of 90.0. Green was one of my personal favorites, and had an awesome run in Kansas city. He makes my team as the 2nd string.
