The AFC West certainly got better this past weekend and it’s quickly becoming one of, if not THE, toughest divisions in football. It most certainly is the toughest in the AFC.

Another interesting thought when looking at each of these teams draft is, they all went defense in the first round. Every team recognizes that it’s going to take a built up defense to win this division.

Denver is the outright favorite to win the division, as they will always be so long as Peyton Manning is under center for them. Kansas City and San Diego should be able to give them a run for their money, much like last season. Oakland could be a dark horse, no joke. If Schaub can provide stability and they can get McFadden and MJD to be a great running duo, watch out! Oakland could be a force to be reckoned with.

As always, thanks for reading and make sure to leave your comments below if you have anything to add. Do you guys have any predictions for the west? Who will win it 2014, and which team will be most improved from last season?
