  3. OG, Chris Watt

  5. DT, Ryan Carrethers
  6. RB, Marion Grice

San Diego wasn’t as active in free agency as some might have thought going into it. It looks like their philosophy was to sign key guys to minimum deals off the market, and build their own talent through the draft.

They went defensive back first, and that was no surprise, especially with a talent like Verett falling that far in the draft. Some mocks had him going as early as number 15 overall. The Chargers finished 29th in pass defense in 2013 and were in desperate need of players at the corner back position.

They also got a little better on the outside with Georgia tech standout, Jeremiah Attaochu. He’s extremely athletic with a lot of length, standing at 6’3, and he knows how to use it. San Diego might have something brewing with their young linebacker group.

Mike McCoy proved that he’s a good coach last season and having Phyllis, oh excuse me, Phillip* Rivers under center certainly helped. They have a committee of running backs and Keenan Allen on the outside. San Diego could be poised for another good season.
