ERIC FISHER, Offensive Lineman
Yep, you probably figured he would make my list at some point as well. Eric Fisher is making the leap from right tackle to left, protecting Alex Smith‘s blindside and taking over the spot he was drafted to play.
Not gonna lie, I’m very nervous with Fisher at left tackle. Just based on his play last year, I haven’t seen enough consistency from him to have much excitement. He’s also recovering from two offseason surgeries, which of course, could be the reason’s he struggled so much last year, having to battle a shoulder and apparently, a sports hernia.
Kansas City desperately needs Fisher to become that player the scouts projected him to be. I do believe that having this offseason to build his upper body strength and work on his technique will do wonders for him in his second season. With him now on the left side, he’s arguably the most important player that needs to see improvement in 2014.
So much of the offenses success will be riding on him which is why he needs to step up in a big way in 2014.
