Jamaal Charles, Kansas City’s best player in 2013, was taken in the 2008 draft. He was a third round pick and better yet, the Chiefs got him through a trade with the Broncos of all teams (and the Broncos had that pick through a trade with the Vikings). Imagine had Charles ended up with our arch nemesis Broncos.

Brandon Flowers has also become one of the Chiefs’ most reliable players throughout the years. Charles and Flowers are the only guys still in Kansas City from this draft, but they are two of the best players on the Chiefs’ current roster. These two as well as Branden Albert all made the Pro Bowl in 2013.

Here are my other Kansas City Chiefs draft revisits: 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, and 2009. Just click on the draft you want to revisit!

Hopefully the Chiefs have just as good of luck in the middle rounds in this year’s draft as they did in 2008. If so, the Chiefs could very well be a serious Super Bowl contender in the next few years.
