While the two first rounders have departed in the last few years, the next two picks are some of the biggest names for the Chiefs. In the second round, cornerback Brandon Flowers came to Kansas City. Flowers has been excellent for the Chiefs with 328 tackles, 17 interceptions (three pick sixes), and two sacks. He’s also had four forced fumbles and has recovered five fumbles.
Round three brought running back Jamaal Charles to Arrowhead. What Chiefs fan doesn’t love Jamaal? He was pretty much our entire offense last season and has done wonders for this team. It’s almost hard to believe that he was only a third rounder back in 2008.
Last season was definitely Charles’ best season, as he recorded 19 total touchdowns and rushed for almost 1,300 yards and had close to 700 yards receiving. He was without a doubt the Chiefs’ most valuable player and carried the offense most of the time. Hopefully Charles will spend his entire career in Kansas City because we sure love him here.
