Kansas City Chiefs: 2011 NFL Draft Revisited

The Chiefs grabbed two guys in the fifth round: quarterback Ricky Stanzi and linebacker Gabe Miller.
Say what you will about Stanzi, but the move made sense at the time. Matt Cassel definitely wasn’t the Chiefs’ future and Tyler Palko proved just how “great” he was during the 2011 season. In all honesty, Stanzi should have gotten a chance to prove himself in 2012 because Kansas City was a terrible team.
Brady Quinn started half of the games and wasn’t doing anything, so why didn’t Stanzi get a chance to go out and show what he had?
Anyway… Stanzi was cut before the 2013 season began. That part made sense, as new quarterback Tyler Bray played better than Stanzi in the preseason. Stanzi got picked up by the Jaguars shortly after the Chiefs released him and he is still a member of their team.
Gabe Miller didn’t do anything with the Chiefs. He signed with the Bears, but was suspended for a few games for violating the substance policy. He currently is a member of the Redskins’ practice squad.
