Round 4: Jon Halapio, Guard, Florida

The Chiefs lost three starting offensive lineman to free agency and two of them were starters at the offensive guard position. Kansas City could fill that void with Jon Halapio who could either provide solid depth, or come into camp competing for that starting spot opposite Jeff Allen.

Halapio, 6’4″, 323 pounds, is coming off his senior season with the Florida Gators. He’s also been one of the most reliable players the Gators offense has had over the last four seasons. Here’s what Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com has to say about Halapio,

"With 33 starts and 41 game appearances since 2009, Halapio has been a rock at right guard for the Gators. Halapio isn’t going to outrun many people in the open field but he plays with good strength and leverage in pass protection. -Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com"

Andy Reid loves athletic offensive lineman that strive in pass protection and Halapio could be there biggest bang for their buck. I drafted him based on need and best player available at the position. Kansas City might not be looking at Halapio for their pick, but I definitely see them taking an offensive lineman with either their fourth, or fifth round pick.
