NUMBER 2: DENVER BRONCOS

WHERE: Sports Authority Field At Mile High, Denver CO, AND, Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City MO

If the Chiefs want to win the AFC West in 2014, they’re going to have to do something they haven’t been able to do in two years- beat the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs came close in 2013, losing both games by a combined 17 points. The Chiefs defense had no answer for Peyton Mannings deep attack, as he torched the Chiefs in Arrowhead throwing for 5 touchdown passes. The reason these two games are number two on my list are, one, they’ve owned the Chiefs and the division the last two years, and two, as long as the Broncos have Peyton Manning, they’re going to be the two toughest games on the Chiefs schedule.

Kansas City needs to revamp their secondary and add depth at pass rusher if they want to stop the prolific offense of the Broncos. While I do think the Broncos take a step back this season, I still think they’ll be a favorite in the division and a favorite in the AFC for the Super Bowl.

A huge weight could be lifted off the Chiefs and their fans if they can somehow get over the hump, beat Manning as a Bronco, and win the AFC West. There’s a strong possibility one of these games makes prime-time, and hopefully it’s in Arrowhead this time.
