Dec 1, 2012; Atlanta, GA, USA; Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Ha

Hasean Clinton-Dix, Free Safety, Alabama

The 6’1, 208 pound safety from Alabama is projected to fall right into Kansas City’s lap with the 23rd pick. NFLDraftscout.com has Clinton-Dix listed as the number one free safety prospect in this years draft, and that’s definitely a position of need for the Chiefs.

He finished fourth on the Bama’ defense in tackles with 52 stops. He was also pretty good in coverage, intercepting two passes and breaking up six in just 11 games. He ran a 4.54 forty yard dash, proving he has great end-to-end speed over the top.

He breaks on the ball fast and could be a serious ball hawk that the Chiefs have been starving for since the arrival of Eric Berry. Early scouting reports indicate that he lacks the strength to be a legitimate force in the run game but for the Chiefs, does that really matter? Eric Berry is your striker plus, the defense has three All-Pro linebackers that can help in that category.  I wouldn’t be upset if this was the Chiefs first choice.
