Christmas can be a complicated time for athletes. Chiefs players, for example, are getting ready to start the most critical part of their season, and cannot take much time off away from football.

One of the more complex things we really don’t think about is what do you get an athlete who has a multi-million contract? Do you just get him a card that says “You’re a millionaire, go buy your own gift. Merry Christmas.” Or does one actually attempt to buy something for the man who has everything?

Not only is there that element, but then you also have players like Everett Teaford, who does not have one of those multi-million contracts but could one day. Do you approach his gift differently because in hopes of upgrading your own future Christmas gifts?

So many questions, so few answers. To help us get closer to those answers, let’s take a look at what some of the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and Sporting players received for Christmas this year.

It’d be weird to get an autographed picture of myself with co-workers for Christmas and be excited about it. This is the life Eric Hosmer is living.

Soony Saad is going to the Winter Classic, Detroit Red Wings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, at Michigan Stadium. That should be cool… and cold.

Everett Teaford was already going to be hard to find in a forest. Now it is just impossible.

Billy Butler got a puppy for Christmas. This is great news for Billy Butler haters as it means Butler should lose a few extra pounds by having to walk the dog more. The rest of us normal people will gawk at the puppy.

Geoff Schwartz’s gift was a little more abstract.

This isn’t a Christmas picture, but if you were wondering how Matt Bessler’s honeymoon was going, here you go.

Jeff Allen and the rest of the Chiefs’ offensive line got a bag full of money from Alex Smith. Or at least that’s what I’d like to think.

Did Andy Gruenebaum get Tiger Woods On-A-Stick for Christmas?

This has nothing to do with Christmas, but…

I’m not entirely sure if this was a Christmas gift or not for Donnie Joseph, but he tweeted it on Christmas so I’m counting it.

This is not a gift. This is just here to let you know Jeremy Guthrie and Schwartz may get in a fight over Justin Bieber.

Have we solved any major world problems with this post? No. But we have learned that there is a good chance that Everett Teaford is hiding in a forest near you. Look out for him… if you can find him.
