KANSAS CITY ROYALS
in 2013, the Royals put together the most wins they have had as an organization for a single season since 1989. It was an exciting season which saw the Royals in contention for a post season slot until the final week of the season.
Kansas City as made some decent moves this off season but are still a couple away from being able to beat the 86 wins they accumulated last year. They still need to make a gigantic move that will put them contention for the American League Central and the playoffs. I want to see a big move or two that shows commitment to going all the way.
So, I wish for the Royals to make some big moves. I would like to see them re-sign Ervin Santana or trade for Jeff Samardzija to bolster their rotation. I do not think the rotation as it stands will be strong enough.
I also wish for the Royals to make a big, head line grabbing trade similar to this – Yordano Ventura, Lorenzo Cain, Aaron Crow, and another prospect for Giancarlo Stanton. The Royals need a power bat and Stanton’s would do just fine.
If the Royals could add another big pitcher for the rotation and a bat like Stanton, they might just be the favorites to win their division, and it would be a all-in commitment from ownership.
Alas, of all my wishes, these for the Royals, unlike all my others, have no chance of coming true.
Have a safe and happy holiday season!
