MISSOURI TIGERS

In just their second season in the mighty SEC (read with a thunderous tone), the Tigers have made a big impact on the conference. The football team made it all the way to the SEC Championship game, and they sport an impressive 11-2 record.

They have an exciting January 3rd match up against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the AT&T Cotton Bowl. A win in the Cotton Bowl could propel them to a top 5 finish in the final BCS Standings, and give them added prestige in recruiting around the country.

In basketball, the Tigers started off 10-0 before their 1-point loss to Illinois in the Braggin’ Rights game this past weekend. Conference play has yet to start but Missouri has the best record in the SEC, and they have a very good chance at finishing somewhere in the top 3 of that conference. They will have to battle Kentucky and Florida for the those top spots.

Missouri’s influence in the SEC is not restricted to just football and basketball. The Tigers’ volleyball team went undefeated in conference play to take home the SEC championship in that sport as they finished with a 35-1 record.

My wishes for the Tigers include a win in the Cotton Bowl ,and a top 5 finish in the polls. Gary Pinkel has built a strong program at Missouri and maybe they can become a national power on the gridiron.

My other wish for Missouri is for them to have a strong season in conference in the SEC, and finish somewhere in the top 3. I also hope they have a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, where they get their chance to play Kansas. Sorry folks, the Tiger wishing ends here. Even this much good tidings toward Missouri has made my stomach go a little sour.
