SPECIAL TEAMS

Quintin Demps started the game off with a good return into Raider territory. Smith connected with Charles for the first touchdown on the very next play, setting the tone for the game. Demps and Knile Davis were both solid on the day returning kicks.

It was an easy day for Ryan Succop. He was only required to boot extra points. Of course, he did have to kick 8 of them!

It wasn’t the best day for Dustin Colquitt as he had just 4 punts, and he averaged 49.5 yards per kick. He sent two of them into the end zone for touch backs. He did finally get one to stick inside the 5 late in the game.

The biggest gaff of the day for the Chiefs came on special teams. In the second quarter, Kansas City stopped the Raiders. As Oakland lined up to punt, no one for the Chiefs lined up on the outside gunners. It was an easy audible the Raiders. They snapped the ball to the up man, full back Marcel Reese, who made an easy throw to the uncovered wide out. It turned into an easy 22 yard gain and a first down.
