Oklahoma can play their way into a potential Cotton Bowl berth with a win over Oklahoma State on the road. To do that, they’ll need Trevor Knight to have his best game of the season against an Oklahoma State team that is firing on all cylinders.
What Oklahoma lacks in quality quarterback play, they gain in a staunch defense and excellent running game. OU torched Kansas State two weeks ago for 301 yards on the ground, which is something they’ll need to do against Oklahoma State. Their ability to limit possessions and take care of the ball will be the primary concern.
Knight wasn’t asked to do much against Kansas State, and nearly had as many rushing attempts (14) as he did passing attempts (20). A similar breakdown in touches for Knight should be what Oklahoma aims for as Oklahoma State is very good at taking the ball away in the passing game.
