Maybe Iowa State should play in near-zero temperatures more often. Or maybe they should just always play Kansas.

Either way, after coming up a yard short on two occasions against Texas and TCU in bids for a conference win, Iowa State stormed out of the gates in win over Kansas. Beating the Jayhawks shouldn’t be considered season-saving by any means, but potential of ending the year with back-to-back wins should give the Cyclones some positive momentum heading into 2014.

Grant Rohach had himself a game, throwing for 300 yards and two touchdowns on 15 of 20 passing. His performance was impressive considering the temperatures in Ames were near zero and field conditions were very slick.

The 502 yards of offense racked up by the Cyclones were the most they’ve had all season.
