Clint Chelf: Savior of the Cowboys season? Or have the last two games been a product of the schedule? We’re not going to find out too much this week as the Cowboys will host Kansas, but it doesn’t mean Chelf cannot continue to add to the evidence that he is the quarterback that makes the most sense for the Cowboys.

Chelf rushed for 88 yards and threw for 211 while totally four touchdowns against Texas Tech, a team that has a pretty solid defense. The offense seems to run smoother and with more purpose with Chelf, and the running game dynamic has been more effective with him leading the way. In the last two games Chelf has averaged 11.5 yards per carry since regaining the starting gig and looked much better throwing the ball this week against Tech.

The issue for Chelf is turnovers and efficiency. He’s tuned the ball over three times via the interception and has completed only 46.7% of his passes. But he made the plays necessary to win last week against Texas Tech on the road, a game that shouldn’t just be brushed off automatically.

OSU has Texas, Baylor, and Oklahoma remaining after KU.
