9. Kansas Jayhawks
Record: 2-6 (0-5)
Previous Ranking: 9
Last Week: Texas 35, KU 13
This Week: at #14 Oklahoma State
Next Week: vs West Virginia
Kansas has four more shots to snap what feels like a century long conference losing streak. It is incredibly unlikely this week is the week for that streak to end as the Jayhawks are traveling to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State. OSU’s offense is rolling after scoring 110 points in their last two games against Iowa State and Texas Tech. It is hard to imagine a scenario where the Jayhawks can keep up on offense.
However, Kansas may have an open in the two games after Oklahoma State. West Virginia and their struggling offense will travel to Lawrence and then KU will visit Iowa State, a team that may be worse than the Jayhawks but will be playing with home-field advantage. If there is a time for Charlie Weis to prove he has turned the Jayhawks program around, these are the two games he can prove it.
If not? Maybe Kansas should consider contacting their boosters about buying out yet another head football coach.
