Sam Richardson went down, again, with an ankle injury, which left freshman Grant Rohach in the precarious position of trying to lead ISU back from a 17-0 halftime deficit.
It didn’t go so well.
ISU managed only 249 yards of offense and committed three turnovers. Their only score came at the end of the fourth when backup running back Robert Rose hurt himself on a carry and fumbled. The Cyclones scored on the ensuing possession.
Iowa State is now the first Big 12 team to be eliminated from bowl game.
