9. Georgia Bulldogs

Record: 4-3 (3-2)

Previous Ranking: 11

Last Week: Bye

This Week: vs Florida (in Jacksonville)

Next Week: vs Appalachian State

A bye week should prove to have been useful for helping get Georgia’s offense on the same page and fixing some issues on the defensive side of the ball.

For as much as the injuries have been brutal for Georgia, the defense has been the true problem. They are allowing a conference worst 33.3 points per game and 11th in passing defense. Only Arkansas and Kentucky are allowing a better efficiency rating for opposing quarterbacks. And only Kentucky (1) has fewer interceptions in SEC play than Georgia’s three.

Georgia still has enough offense to beat just about anyone in the SEC, but it isn’t going to mean anything if they cannot fix the defense.
