10. Vanderbilt Commodores

Record: 4-4 (1-4)

Previous Ranking: 9

Last Week: A&M 56, Vandy 24

This Week: Bye

Next Week: at Florida

A&M was a bad matchup for Vandy, and playing with a backup quarterback didn’t make things much easier for them either. It’s a loss, move on.

Florida, on the other hand, is a matchup Vandy may be able to take advantage of. The Gators simply cannot score points, which favors a Vanderbilt team that struggles to prevent points. Vandy may only need to score 17 points to win this game.

The problem will come from actually getting those 17 points, and playing on the road won’t make that an easier task. But if Vanderbilt can somehow pull that out, they’ll end the season with Kentucky, Tennessee, and Wake Forest. Sweep that and Vanderbilt is a surprising eight-win team.
