11. Tennessee Volunteers
Record: 4-4 (1-3)
Previous Ranking: 10
Last Week: Alabama 45, Tennessee 10
This Week: at #9 Missouri
Next Week: vs Auburn
The Volunteers have their sixth ranked opponent in seven weeks this weekend at Missouri. The fact that Tennessee is still in line for a potential bowl bid is remarkable.
Traveling to Missouri the week after the Tigers lost a heartbreaker to South Carolina could end up being a task for Tennessee. The Volunteers have played much better at home than they have on the road, and Missouri is a very motivated team this week.
Still, get a good punch in the first half and keep it close in the fourth quarter and Missouri could be primed for an upset. Getting to that point will be much easier said than done as Missouri has a tremendous running game that should be difficult for Tennessee to stop.
If the Vols can find a way to slow down that running game, however, then this game could get interesting.
