8. West Virginia Mountaineers

Record: 3-5 (1-4)

Previous Ranking: 8

Last Week: KSU 35, WVU 12

This Week: at TCU

Next Week: vs Texas

This game was much closer than the score would indicate. WVU was up 12-7 late in the third quarter until Tyler Lockett made a tremendous catch in the end zone to give K-State the lead and completely flip the momentum. Hold KSU to a field goal there and maybe the game turns out differently.

Alas…

WVU has an interesting schedule to finish out the season: at TCU, vs Texas, at Kansas, vs ISU. There is a solid chance WVU goes 3-1 there, which would make them bowl eligible. The Texas game is still incredibly intriguing given it is the last game the Longhorns play before starting their OSU/Tech/Baylor stretch. There could be some ingredients their that could lead to a WVU upset.
