Beltran is a guy that a lot of KC fans want back. Many of us feel gypped out of watching him become a star for the Royals and wouldn’t mind getting a glimpse of him in blue again. He brings power with him. His average fly ball distance is actually farther than Granderson’s (284.41 ft. to 275.52 ft.). Busch Stadium has similar dimensions and weather to Kauffman and Beltran has hit 56 home runs for the Cardinals in the past two years.
He’s getting older, but looks like he has plenty in the tank. In his past three seasons, he’s hit .288/.356/.503 and will probably continue to hit well in 2014. Expect the “old man tax” to knock a few bucks off his price, but he’ll still get around $14-15 million.
