Last Week: Bye
This Week: vs South Carolina
Next Week: at Alabama
The things that were true before the bye week are still true today. Tennessee needs improved quarterback play in order to take advantage of a strong offensive line and a good running back in Rajion Neal. They could also stand to improve their pass rush in order to create some big plays on defense.
Another thing that hasn’t changed is Tennessee still has a shot at a bowl game, but they’re going to need an upset win. The Volunteers end the season with games against Kentucky and Vanderbilt, both winnable games at this point. But they’ll have to beat one of SC, Alabama, Mizzou, or Auburn to get to the six win mark – and that’s assuming they do beat Kentucky and Vandy.
It’s an uphill battle for Tennessee, but, if the Georgia game is indication, they are capable of making that climb.
