4. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Record: 3-1 (0-1)

Previous Ranking: 1 (Trend: Down)

Last Week: WVU 30, OSU 21

This Week: vs. Kansas State

Next Week: Bye

Whatever dreams the Cowboys had of a national championship are now gone. There is no way a one-loss Big 12 team is going to make the title game without a massive shift in the college football world.

And if the Cowboys feel sorry for themselves for too long, their Big 12 dreams – and BCS bowl games dreams, too – will be gone as well.

Kansas State is coming off of a bye, which means Bill Snyder has had two weeks to prepare his squad for the Cowboys. OSU can ill afford another loss before playing the likes of Oklahoma and Baylor, so they have to be on top of their game to beat a KSU team that – when right – is good enough to beat them in Stillwater.

Things are not completely lost. Beat K-State and get a little bit of help and the Cowboys could be back in a good position two weeks from now after their bye. But OSU has certainly dug a hole for themselves.
