6. Texas Longhorns

Record: 2-2 (1-0)

Previous Ranking: 6 (Trend: –)

Last Week: Bye

This Week: at Iowa State (Thursday)

Next Week: vs Oklahoma (at Cotton Bowl)

This game has all the makings of a trap game if the Longhorns are not careful.

– Odd Thursday night game on the road in a tough environment.

– Coming off a big home win against K-State.

– Red River Rivalry next week against Oklahoma.

– An “easy” opponent in Iowa State.

– Off-field distractions with DeLoss Dodds and Mack Brown.

– Injuries to quarterback David Ash and other key players.

None of those things are a good thing to have on their own. All of them together could spell disaster.
