13. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Record: 2-2 (0-1)

Previous Ranking: (Trend: — )

Last Week: Mississippi State 62, Troy 7

This Week: Bye

Next Week: vs. LSU

Mississippi State took advantage of playing Troy by ripping them 62-7 over the weekend. The win was needed as a sure loss is likely coming next week against LSU.

The Bulldogs have played very good on defense so far this season, allowing seven points or less in three of their four games this season. If the Bulldogs were to pull off the upset, it is going to have to be led by the defense.

The Oklahoma State game may be a good model for the Bulldogs as they held one of the nations better offenses to 21 points, and did so in Stillwater. This time MSU will have home-field advantage on their side. Force a couple of key turnovers and get just enough offense and MSU may have a chance to pull this off.
