4. Texas A&M Aggies
Record: 3-1 (0-1)
Previous Ranking: 4 (Trend: — )
Last Week: Texas A&M 42, SMU 13
This Week: at Arkansas
Next Week: Bye
The Aggies play their fifth game in five weeks this week against Arkansas before getting a needed bye week before the Ole Miss game. Though it is a road game, A&M shouldn’t have too much trouble with Arkansas, who are coming off a loss to Rutgers last week.
But it is possible A&M could get caught looking ahead, who pose one of their two remaining obstacles between them and an 11-1 season. Whether 11-1 is good enough to jump Alabama is unknown, but 11-1 may be enough to land them at least a Cotton Bowl.
Over the break, A&M is going to need to focus a lot on their defense, which is allowing 30.3 points per game.
