What happened to Kansas State’s coaching staff?
Nevermind the quarterback situation at this point, what is going on with the play-calling? What happened to the offensive line that was supposed to be loaded with NFL talent? John Hubert has disappeared. K-State committed eight penalties and turned the ball over three times against Texas, when was the last time that happened?
Something is going awry with the coaching staff. Play-calling the red zone looked awful for most of the game, especially when Daniel Sams was not in the game. Sams didn’t attempt a single pass in the game, making the offense incredibly predictable. Jake Waters looked like he hadn’t been taught how to run a two-minute drill in the final two possessions of the game when KSU needed multiple scores to win the game.
Then there was the defense…
K-State’s talent and experience took a huge hit over the summer with graduations and players lost to the NFL, but the strength of the Wildcats program has always been about how well coached they have been. That coaching staff is failing them right now. Bill Snyder is a Hall of Fame coach, so he should be trusted to figure things out, but the fact K-State is even in this position because of coaching is a stunning development.
