Next Week: vs. Texas (Thursday game)
Iowa State is going to have fewer wins than Kansas no matter what they do this weekend. That’s an issue.
No win this against Tulsa and Cyclones fans can go ahead and kiss any chance of a bowl berth good-bye. Six wins in the Big 12 – let alone five, which is what they’ll need with a win this Saturday – is extremely unlikely for this team. So what now?
For starters, if they want to have a win before the Kansas game November 23, they have to beat Tulsa… on the road. After that the schedule gets incredibly tough: Texas, at Texas Tech, at Baylor, Oklahoma State, at Kansas State, TCU, and at Oklahoma. An 0-7 start to the Big 12 season is almost assured. This season looks to have disaster written all over it for Iowa State.
