3. Oklahoma Sooners
Record: 3-0 (1-0)
Previous Ranking: (Trend: Up)
Last Week: Oklahoma 51, Tulsa 20
This Week: Bye
Next Week: at Notre Dame
Blake Bell threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns in his starting debut for the Sooners, but the real test for whether he is the answer to the quarterback position for Mike Stoops will come next week against Notre Dame.
While Bell statistically had a lot of success through the air, he benefited from Tulsa’s secondary lacking the ability to make a tackle. Facing a significantly better defense in a hostile environment will say way more about Bell than what he did to Tulsa.
Fortunately for Oklahoma, he’s got an extra week to get ready for the challenge.
