Trevone Boykin(2) rushes against the Texas Tech Red Raiders during the second half at Jones AT
5. TCU Horned Frogs
Record: 1-2 (0-1)
Previous Ranking: (Trend: Down)
Last Week: Texas Tech 20, TCU 10
This Week: Bye
Next Week: vs. SMU
The quarterback position may end up being the death of TCU’s season, as season that began with so much promise.
Trevone Boykin, who was filling in for the injured and underwhelming Casey Pachall, threw two picks and for only 194 yards in the loss. While Texas Tech’s defense is improved, it is not that good, which should be a concern for TCU moving forward.
Boykin did put up a team high 101 yards on the ground in the loss.
Any chance to recover the season is going to have to happen quickly. The Horned Frogs have road trips to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the next month. They’re going to have to pick off at least one of those if they want a shot a reaching a top tier bowl game.
